Hi All

Just wondering if someone knows a quick answer to this.

I've got 4 DNS-323's sitting on my network, and I can access two of them remotely fine.

(a) NAS1: Configured remote access through standard port 80
(b) NAS2: Configured remote access through https port 443

The problem is I cannot find a section somewhere to allow me to configure the remote admin ports for the other 2...and since the only option i can select is to switch between 443 and 80, i cannot figure out a way to get the other 2 up and running via remote configuration.

Surely there has to be a way to do it, there usually is...but I cannot for the life of me see it.

Any ideas?

Let the router do the work. Choose 4 spare port numbers (e.g. 8080, 8081, 8082 and 8083) and "port forward" them to each of your NAS's internal IP addresses at their default port, 80.

I should have added in that my currrent router is a piece of crap. Cable provider gave me one that has the most limited options ever, port forwarding only allows me to specify a port range to redirect and not a destination port so i am screwed either way

Hopefully at some stage i'll figure out how to use this mode/router as just a modem and stick on my own router, but until then I need to try find a solution for it.

I wonder if it is possible that these things are just disabled, will need to ring UPC lol

Does your router allow you to use it as a VPN end point?

nope unfortunately.
Hate these router/modems that you get with cable connections with a passion they are equipped with only the base functionality.

I think I am just going to get rid of it and replace it with my Cisco WRT-610N router, at least I have full control over that....just need to figure out how to disable the router part of this modem.

Having said that, if anyone knows how to modify the port number that the WebUI for the DNS-323 works off it would be great, solve alot of problems!

not at all, might just give that a go. I was fiddling around with Router last night, unfortunately there is no way for me to disable the router portion of the box that UPC have given me, and as a result my own router won't work with the connection through the modem...unfortunately.

I'll give that link a go and see if anyone knows.
