Intermittent Internet Access
« on: September 26, 2008, 08:54:30 PM »

Howdy,

This just started yesterday.  My wired internet connection is only lasting for about 15-20 minutes to an hour and then I can't connect.  To reconnect I need to reboot my cable modem and then the DIR-655.

I installed the latest firmware 1.21 hoping that this would correct the issue.  It appeared to as I had a stretch of several hours before losing my connection.  Now I'm back to the 15-20 minutes stretch.

If I connect my modem directly to the PC, I don't have any issues.

My router wireless settings are as follows:
Mixed n/g
Enable Auto Channel Scan is checked
Auto 20/40 Mhz
WPA2 - AES

I've tried unchecking Enable DNS Relay and have also tried dropping the MTU.

Still disconnecting.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.  This just started out of the blue (I did not make any changes).

Thanks.

Who is your ISP? If you have DSL do you have a "Public" IP under the WAN Section in the 'Status' tab??

What do the logs say when the router reboots??
