Any resolution for LAN printing/ firmware 1.21?
« on: November 15, 2008, 08:23:04 PM »

Header says it all, has there been any resolution about LAN printing issues and firmware 1.21? ???

I went back to firmware 1.11 because couldn't print to a networked HP 8180 without serious slowdowns.
Really would like to upgrade to the newest firmware.

Addendum,

Just tried the newest 1.21b08 and lan printing working great now  ;D

Just wish we could figure out why my Wii constantly authenticates/deauthenticates every 20 seconds

About the wii problem, make sure that wifi-protected setup is disabled if you haven't already.

In the Wii or router? confusededededed  :( As in WPA2-AES in the Wii? I use WPA2 AES and the 24 hr connect setting on the Wii? Any help would be appreciated  :)

Duh-that's why i'm classified as a noob  ::)-found it in Advanced tab>Wi-Fi Protected Setup was checked-unchecked it and rebooted.

I guess he is talking about WPS on the router -> http://support.dlink.com/Emulators/dir655/Protected_Setup.html

About the wii problem, make sure that wifi-protected setup is disabled if you haven't already.

Unchecked Wi-Fi Protected setup, rebooted and still authenticating/deauthenticating,but now every couple of minutes instead of every 20 seconds.

Running Hardware Version: A2 Firmware Version: 1.21

Sun Nov 16 09:06:21 2008 Wireless system with MAC address xxxxxxxxxxx disconnected for reason: Received Deauthentication

It's better than every 20 seconds now at least  ;)

Which wireless channel are you using?

Try switching to channel 1 or 11 if you aren't already using one of those channels and resetting up your wii's wireless. Also, try connecting to another wireless network with your wii if you can to test to see if it has the same problems?

The fact that the thing is being deauthenticated tends to mean that there is a problem with the device or device settings on the wii (though, with a wii it's more unlikely I guess, my problem was with a smartphone who's sim card was partway fried.) because the wii is actually telling the router that it is going to disconnect. And the router is going, "Okay, sure thing, bye."

Looking at my logs just now, haven't had a deauthentication from the Wii since I last posted about it earlier. Has gone most of the day o.k. now, so looks like the Wi-Fi Protected setup was the answer. Will keep an eye on it, thanks everyone(especialy Scottymo) for the help. ;D
