My first post! I have my HomeServer on my network. Basically, I have the server and my pc connected for quick transfer of large files. I have these devices connected to my network through a DAP-1522 which is wirelessly connected to my router (DIR-825). I then stream media to one ps3 which is a wired connection to my router. I have a second ps3 connected to another dap-1522 and I have an internet connection to my router working. I cannot get any of the mediaservers (pvconnect or windows) to display on the ps3. I can hookup a laptop to the dap-1522 and access the home server console so the two dap-1522's are linked together, just can't get any of the mediaservers to see this ps3. Any suggestions?

Did you give the ps3 access to the network?

The ps3 in question worked when I had the first DAP-1522 connected to it and I had my media server directly connected to the ps3 and I was able to access the mediaserver on the homeserver. I just got my second DAP-1522 and moved that to the ps3 in question and moved the first DAP-1522 to the room and connected the home server as well. Before I hooked the second DAP-1522 up to the second ps3, I was able to access the media server on the first ps3 with the computer/homeserver connected to the first DAP-1522. I had the second DAP-1522 working on the ps3 with internet connection working, just could not see the homeserver mediaserver.

Now I have a new problem...I cannot get the second DAP-1522 to work at all now. I tried resetting, and resetting the router which was a pain since I then had to reset the first DAP-1522 also and reconnect by pressing the buttons and auto connecting. Why is the second DAP-1522 not resetting and reconnecting as well?

Hope this isn't too confusing.

Sounds like you may need to give the second dap-1522 a static ip.

I think something may be wrong with the unit. I cannot even set the unit up by doing WPS from the Router setting page like I can with the first DAP-1522.

You have to connect the second dap-1522 to your pc to give it a static ip.

I finally got the second DAP-1522 configured by WPS so at least the ps3 can connect to the internet. Also, before I start doing the static IP, I assume I would connect the DAP-1522 to the ethernet port of the computer and then follow the instructions for static IP for wired adapter.I would leave the unit in auto mode? After doing those things, I could then disconnect the DAP-1522 from the ethernet port and hook back up to the ethernet port of the PS3 and hopefully I will be able to see my mediaserver?

Another question, one DAP-1522 is on 2.4 GHZ channel, to get it on the 5 GHZ channel I would type http://dlinkap while the unit is hooked up to the ethernet port of the computer in auto mode and change the settings for that DAP-1522? Would I then have to run WPS from the router to reconnect that DAP-1522?

Sorry for all the questions, but I have another...

Since I now have the DAP-1522 in question able to connect to the internet, would I be able to enter into the settings (http://DLINKAP) and change it from 192.168.0.50 to 192.168.0.51 and then re-run WPS?

Doing this should work. With the 2x Dap-1522 you will have to give one a different ip address.

Anon, thanks for your help. I followed everything step by step but I can't seem to figure out the proper dns server settings. I looked at the config screen for the dir-825 and entered in these numbers and the computer I am using can connect to the internet. However, when I go into the ps3 I have to manually tell it what my settings are and it cannot connect to the internet. It recognizes the static IP address. I then tried to hook the dap-1522 back up to the computer and I tried 192.68.0.1 and my internet connection dropped on the computer. Very frustrating.

Also when I have one device on the network I get 5Ghz connection, but with both connected they default to 2.4Ghz. In the settings the Ghz setting is greyed out.

what ip did you give the 2nd dap-1522? Try 192.168.0.51 for the 2nd dap-1522.

I gave it 192.168.0.5. I tried doing it again, this time I left the DNS blank when I set up the static IP to 192.168.0.10 and everything worked fine. After setting it up this way, I was able to access the DAP-1522 web utility and then I went through manual setup. I connected it to the ps3 and was able to get the ps3 to recognize the Static IP address and connect to the internet. I moved the home server back to the wired port on the DIR-825 so I can see the media server, but high def files don't play smoothly like they did when I had one DAP-1522. I think the router is still putting both in 2.4Ghz and I think I need 5Ghz to be able to stream high def. I will try moving the Home Server back to the other DAP-1522 tomorrow.

The Ghz settings are greyed out and the default setting is 2.4Ghz/5Ghz. There is a dial for 2.4 and 5 Ghz only, but greyed out. I could force the 5 Ghz in settings in DIR-825 which I tried but it seemed to mess up my connection to the DAP-1522 and I couldn't connect to the router because my wireless card is only 2.4 Ghz which I prefer not to use.

Reading on internet the dials are greyed out because I am in bridge mode which is a slave mode. Would I change to access mode or does this defeat the purpose of what I am trying to do? I have set on auto.

Do you need to have a 2 ssid/security mode for the 2.4/5 Ghz on the dir-825?
