Maximum size of music library Itunes/AV server can handle ?
« on: January 06, 2009, 02:43:03 PM »

Hi

i have currently approx 300G sitting on a Seagate 1TB and i want it to stream it to a Roku SoundBridge wirelessly via a DLINK DIR-655.   Both have the latest firmware
I pointed the Itunes and the AV  server to the root but after it refreshes the library it fails to load the data
The Itunes server is not seen(wirelessly), apparently this has to do with the DIR655 and the mtdaap not "cooperating".Known issue.I emailed Dlink multiple times i didn't get any answers

I can see the DNS-323, just the AV server(wirelessly)  but  i get  "failed to load browse data" on the Sb
Tried with just a couple of files only  and it seemed to be ok

Is there a limit on how many files the server can handle ? Or does it depend on the file/directory structure
number of folders... etc?

Thank You!

rf,

I also use a DIR-655 and have been suffering from a similar problem which I discussed in the 1.06 AV Issues post yesterday.

The cause of the problem was not the DIR-655. Based on the suggestion from someone else on the board, I reset the DNS-323 to Factory Default settings, and then re-enabled UPnP. After rebuilding the index all of my tracks (about 4,600) were displayed.

Prior to that the DNS-323 seemed able to share about a CDs worth of data, but nothing more.

Good luck.
