Backup NAS to USB disk?

I have a DNS-320, and would like to do a scheduled backup of the files on the NAS to a USB disk attached to the NAS.
I have formatted the USB disk to Ext3, and it shows up on then network as "USBDisk1_1".
I can write and read to/from it over the network.

The built in backup programs however will not let me select the USB disk as destination, they only show the "Volume_1".

Does anyone know how to do it? Perhaps by installing fun_plug and using another backup program?
