You can switch from a RAID1 configuration to a standard volume (ie separate drives) by removing one of the RAID1 drives, formatting the other, and then re-installing the drive that you removed.As always - make sure have a backup before changing your drive configuration.
1 - back up your data2 - power the unit off3 - remove a drive - pick one, any one4 - power the unit on5 - login to the web interface6 - select Tools/RAID/Set RAID Type & Reformat.7 - wait for the format to complete & reboot8 - power the unit off9 - replace the drive removed in step 210 - power the unit onThat wasn't so hard was it?
Wouldn't this result in losing ALL the data on both drives though? Unless I misread, I thought that's what the first post was trying to avoid: "without the need to format all drive involved and copying all data off the drives."
