Hi davgard,

Make sure that you are initially broadcasting your SSID Signal Name and Network is secure. Even if your Blackberry 8820 finds the Network, it might require you to use a Passphase to connect or it doesn't connect.

I have revision B1 of this same router and installed it two weeks ago.  It came with 2.00NA firmware.  At first, even though all my PCs connected (wirelessly as well as through LAN cables), not all of the wireless ones showed in the Windows network (all are correctly configured with the same workgroup name, permissions, etc.).  I flashed the 2.01NA firmware and all my PC issues were solved, as they now show up in the windows network all the time, and can be accessed.  A strange side effect of the 2.01NA firmware is that ALL the wireless computers stopped showing up in the wireless status menu.  This was a useful feature since it shows the connect rate and signal strength.  However, being able to access all computer is more important, so I'll live with the tradeoff for now.  I tried enabling netbios, turning off SPI firwewall and other settings to no avail.

Now, I also have the same model BlackBerry 8820.  I found that with either firmware version, I needed to use TKIP (versus AES) encryption for the BlackBerry to find and login into the network.  You do not need to make the SSID visible as long as you correctly enter the SSID into the BlackBerry.  So, now I have the router cofigured with two SSIDs (the main one and the guest one).  The SSID for the guest one is BlackBerry, and it is set up like the main one except I forced WPA2/TKIP-only for the BlackBerry (guest) SSID.  I noticed that this seems to also force connections on only one channel (channel 8 ) while I have the main SSID set up to use WPA2/AES-only and 20/40 auto bandwidth, and channel 8 and 4 are used.  This is needed to get 300 mbps out of Wireless N, and that is working great.

In summary, recommend you set up the guest zone under advanced settings with a unique SSID to be used with the BlackBerry and choose WPA2/TKIP-only encryption.  I looked up a data sheet for the BlackBerry 8820, and it SHOULD support WPA2 and AES, but perhaps it is more of a problem with the use of dual channels in Wireless N mode.  Perhaps the BlackBerry can only use a single channel for access?  Another suggestion, choose type b/g as the network type in the BlackBerry WiFi setup, and NOT a/b/g.  It seemed to have trouble connecting with it set to a/b/g.

Good Luck!
