It works just fine for gaming. I use it with my PC and Xbox 360. You can fiddle around with the QoS if you want but I'd simply suggest turning it off unless you're sharing your internet connection with tons of other people.
I used to have D-Link's dedicated gaming router but it didn't work nearly as well as my 655. What a waste of time and money that was.
