I am the same, I don't really know or have bothered with it yet, but I can tell you it obviously depends on your specific network. If it was universal settings just to get it to work for everyone there wouldn't be options

Just google NFS, SMB Oplocks ect and then answer accordingly if you do or don't utilise them on your network.
I know mine is on SMB but I have trouble with AD so it is all useless until I can fix that..
