Hi,
I need your help.
This morning I had no internet connection due to failure in the router. I have tested internet signal directly from Modem and is perfect, so the problem was in the router. It hasn’t failed for years, just all of sudden.
I accessed the router via IP 192.168.0.1 and checked configuration, everything was fine but in Status it said:
Cable Status: Connected
Network Status: Disconnected
It was trying to connect but it couldn't. I tried different cables... nothing
I connected the modem to a regular switch port and also the PC and I can access the Modem and browse Internet with no problem.
I decided to upgrade the firmware to the latest version 135NA and accessed, via cables and upload the FW. It rebooted apparently normal before those 80 or 90 secs but it never came back alive. I tried to access it via IP 192.168.0.1 and there is no response. I tried several time and combinations including powering off the router… nothing. One thing, I didn’t saved the configuration thinking I can type in all the information needed.
I wanted to reset to original using the reset button in the back, nothing. It resets but I can’t access the router using IP 192.168.0.1 any more. Turn-off and on, reset it again … nothing it is not there… it seems that either is dead or I am using a different IP address …
I wonder if the new FW version sets a different IP address but if I reset it… shouldn’t come back to manufacturing settings, including IP 192.168.0.1 ??
Are these the only ways to reset the unit? Maybe some kind of timing or double clicking ??
Any idea how could I access back to the unit??
Is there any software that can run a test over the unit and know if this is actually a physical failure?
Please, any idea or steps are welcomed and needed badly !!
Peter
