Just got a new DIR-655 revB and upgraded to the latest firmware. I setup static ips, wireless, port forwarding, security, dynadns, etc. A few days after initial setup I noticed that my wireless devices could no longer connect and some of my desktops lost their ips (after their lease expired). After some digging and testing, I narrowed the problem down to DHCP dropping out and no longer assigning IPs. This happens after about 1 day of uptime. All the other router systems seem to work normally when this happens. Im not really running anything heavyweight on my network. I browse the internet and I have a few servers serving incoming connections. When I check the logs, I notice that every minute the following message is displayed: UDHCPD Inform: add_lease [ip of my win7 machine]. I have netbios enabled. Im thinking that the constant buildup of these requests may have something to do with DHCP dying later on.

Is it too late to get a refund on this thing? Seems like a software issue so RMA will probably do me no good.

What wireless modes are you running? Mixed? Try Single mode G or Mixed G and N
Set security mode to WPA2 is preferred.
Setup Reserved (Static) IP addresses on the router for your devices not the devices themselves.

Running 11gn with WPA.

All my devices are wired with cat6, so I dont think the issue is with WIFI. I also just hooked up a vista laptop and saw more infinite loop of add_lease. From all of my testing, I get a sense that the software on this thing is buggy. Im just seeing a lot of weirdness right now.

Try turning off IPv6 in Vista, Vista and 7 come with IPv6 turned on.
Try single mode G to test.

Setup Reserved (Static) IP addresses on the router for your devices.
Ensure DNS IP addresses are being filled in under Setup/Internet/Manual.
Ensure Advanced DNS Service is disabled if you have this option.
Ensure DNS Relay is enabled.

It looks like your mac adres is in a loop.
If you save the configuration, reset the router, en load the configuration again.
What is the type of network card you use?

I would factory reset the router. Don't reload any saved config.
Turn off all there devices.

Ensure DNS IP addresses are being filled in under Setup/Internet/Manual?
Turn off Advanced DNS Services if you have this option.
Turn on DNS Relay under Setup/Networking.
Setup DHCP reserved IP addresses for all devices on the router.
Ensure devices are set to auto obtain an IP address.
Set Firewall settings to Endpoint Independent for TCP and UDP.

Setup a new SSID, something other than dlink.
What wireless modes are you using?
Try single mode G or mixed G and N?
What security mode are you using? WEP, WPA or WPA2? Preferred is WPA2.
What wireless devices do you have connected?
Any cordless house phones?

Turn off all anti virus and firewall programs on PC while testing.
Turn off all devices accept for one wired PC while testing.

i see many problems with dhcp and dns with these Dlink routers. Maybe all dlink users have to contact support for these problems.

So DHCP no longer is responding this morning. No device can pull a new IP but devices with existing IPs are fine and the router is competely functional minus DHCP. Here is what the log is saying:

Will try and reset and reconfig the router is the next few days. This whole experience has sucked.

I would test with just one wired PC and turn all other devices off for testing.

Turn off all anti virus and firewall programs on PC while testing.
Sent you a PM.
