HOW TO BLOCK GOOGLE +
« on: July 14, 2011, 09:23:50 PM »

Hi everybody,

I use DIR 655 where the broadband internet is connected and shared to around 20 peoples.
I was trying to block Google +, the new social networking website by trying to input the names 'plus.google.com', 'Google +1' in the website filter page but was unsuccessful.
The other social networking sites like facebook, orkut, twitter etc are blocked using the similar way.
But i dont want to shutdown Google completely in the network too.
Any idea folks? Does anyone tried out this? Please reply.

Also, i would like to block some applications to be used in the network like Torrent. Is it possible with this Router? Does anyone tried out this?

Please help.

Thanks in advance.

Yeah Yeah... Now i understand..

Parental controlling can be done to a limited no: persons who DON'T USE INTERNET too much. ;D

Somebody who's smart enough to Google out the way to unblock Facebook, Google+ etc will get a solution like simple adding 's' in the address filed. :o

Which sure means people like myself are stupid who thought by seeing the ad given on the DLINK modem about the parental control or web filter. ::)

Web filter in DLINK Router means it filter out only http sites and not https. >:(

This can be solved if the DLINK Router tech peoples put some serious effort in updating web filter options and put it in their next official update. (BUT I AM SURE THIS WILL NEVER HAPPEN).
