DIR-825 Yogurt Shop
« on: August 02, 2011, 12:10:53 PM »

Hi Everyone we are setting up a family yogurt shop. I have the follwing
-DIR-825
-Cable INternet 3 Mbps down / 768 Kbps
• Includes 1 static IP address
-One POS machine connected by wireless
-One PC wired
-Q-see security system - requires static IP

So My question is how do I set this up. I would like to have a private wifi network for me and my family and also a public wifi for our customers. I would also like to be able to remotely view our security camera from pc from our house or smart phone

I know how to set ip up with just the PC, but never set one up with a guest account and static IP

Thanks in Advance

you need to setup a few things..

for your cam system, you need to setup dlinkddns service in the router. Pretty straight forward. You can find it under Tools tab -> Dynamic DNS

For your guest network go to Advanced Network, Guest Zone and set it up there.
Hide your private network SSID and set a wireless password that isn't obvious.

and Voila. the Guest zone can be configured to not connect to the rest of your network.

What HW version is your router?
What FW version is currently loaded?

What ISP Modem do you have? Stand Alone or built in router?
What ISP Modem make and model do you have?

Ensure DNS IP addresses are being filled in under Setup/Internet/Manual?
Turn off QoS options.
Turn off Advanced DNS Services if you have this option Setup/Internet/Manual.
Turn on DNS Relay under Setup/Networking.
Setup DHCP reserved IP addresses for all devices on the router.
Ensure devices are set to auto obtain an IP address.
Set Firewall settings to Endpoint Independent for TCP and UDP.

What wireless modes are you using?
Try single mode G or mixed G and N?
What security mode are you using? WEP, WPA or WPA2? Preferred is WPA2 and Cipher type to AES only if your device support this.

OK I reconfigured my router to just detect my static IP. 69.42.30.123. on my DVR I assigned it 192.168.0.105. Its wired connected to the router. ON my router advance port forwarding I put DVR 80,6036 and ip is 192.168.0.105.  went to www.canyouseeme.org. Says your IP address is 69.42.30.123. I put port 80 say its open. I put port 6036 says its open. I tried doing it remotly server refused. I tried puttting on my phone 192.168.0.105 on my lan and I was able to view it, but not from outside network. What could be wrong.  IS there any firewall with the dlink? if so how do I disable?
