Having trouble with video playback
« on: August 03, 2011, 02:55:51 PM »

I just got my camera and installed the software.

I click "start monitor all" and it seems to record and it creates a file with the date and a .dat file.

How do I watch/save what I recorded?

Click on the clapperboard middle-bottom in the monitor-screen. It starts the playback option. Top right icon allows you to select camera and time/period... You can also start Playback from windows menu...

I see my recording, however it keeps saying I have no camera selected. I see the 3 small recorded .dat files in my d-link folder. I don't see any recording in the timeline, though. I'm pretty confused. This isn't very intuitive at all.

Is only one location set up to store recorded data? You need to use the mouse to select a period for one camera in the Selection-menu ([mostly] red line in time-bar). You will then notice the start- and end-time appear at the top of the selection-menu. This also allows you to manually (at the top) select start- and end-time.

It is explained (though cryptic at best) in the UserGuide of the software.
