Twofour,
Odd I had a very similar issue, put the set up disk in and ran the wizard and my internet connection would never be found and then stop installing.  So I just turned off the router, did a complete reset on my modem.  Turned on my modem, waited 30 seconds, turned on my router and all good.

ok furry, multi media streams did not work. a few questions about the other stuff though

setting reserved IP's for other devices (ie. wife's comp) how do I do that under the network settings?

where it says add reservation there is a drop down menu that looks like it has my wife's comp info there, will that work or do I have to go up to her comp find the IP then input it? it looks like it has the IP and mac there? do I have to setup my own PC there too?
At the bottom of the Networking settings, there is a Dynamic Clients list, your wifes PC should be listed there, select the Reserve word link in that row, this will auto fill in the Add Reservation section above. Can change the name to be easier to identify here. Then select ADD.

I have manually put in the DNS servers, but under DHCP server setting is "WINS IP primary and secondary" do I unput anything here and if so what?Leave the WINS alone. Nothing configured here.

To sound like a total noob, what is QoS option? Quality Of Service. You wont see this on the DGL routers however Gamefuel is another name for it. You'll see QoS on DIR series routers.

Do I need to change my MTU at all? If your on cable, 1500 is default. If your on DSL, try 1492.

I am starting to wonder if I have the same issue.  I just changed from VDSL to cable so I have no "before" to compare it to.
However, I noticed running speedtests at peak times, my DL will change from 5 meg to over 20 meg by just re-running it a couple of times, sometimes it only gets to to 13 meg.  It changes at peak times.
What time of day are you running these speedtests and what website?

Are you streaming over wired or wifi when your doing 1080p? If wifi it's recommended to use the 300Mb N connection for streaming. What other settings on the router are you using?

wired, there are two other devices on the router (wireless) but none are on when I am trying to stream.

other setting...any more specific?

I turned on multicast streams (off didn't work either)
firewall is set to endpoint for both
on apllication level gateway all four are checked (PPTP, IPSec, RTSP, SIP)
spoof checking is on

Gamefuel set up, WISH? items like this?
Where are you streaming from? Netflix or home server? Shouldn't be having problems. I stream from my boxee and PCs all the time with out trouble.

Any 3rd party security SW running while steaming? Firewall or AV?

Care to let someone remote in and check your router out?

Might have someone check your router settings out via teamviewer.com...
