Help with PortForward Please
« on: August 22, 2011, 09:44:24 PM »

Dear Forum Users,

Recently I bought a few Panasonic IP cameras, I live alone and I would like to be able to monitor my house before getting in...

Panasonic offers a service called viewnetcam.com since I have 3 cameras, I need to port forward 5000,5001 and 5002, however it does not work...

Funny is that even the cameras are not listed within the router anyware, but I can access it's ip address thru the browser....

In the Port Forward configuration I did:

Name: Camera1
IP Adress: 192.168.1.251
TCP: 5000 UDP:5000
Schedule: Always
Inbound filter: Allow all

Name: Camera2
IP Adress: 192.168.1.252
TCP: 5001 UDP:5001
Schedule: Always
Inbound filter: Allow all

Name: Camera3
IP Adress: 192.168.1.253
TCP: 5002 UDP:5002
Schedule: Always
Inbound filter: Allow all

I even tried Virtual Server! Nothing works!

I am using DIR-655 with the latest 1.35NA firmware.

Can anyone help me?

Thank you!

What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
What ISP Modem do you have? Stand Alone or built in router?
What ISP Modem make and model do you have?
If this modem has a built in router, it's best to bridge the modem. Having 2 routers on the same line can cause connection problems.

Ensure DNS IP addresses are being filled in under Setup/Internet/Manual?
Turn off QoS options.
Turn off Advanced DNS Services if you have this option.
Turn on DNS Relay under Setup/Networking.
Setup DHCP reserved IP addresses for all devices ON the router.
Ensure devices are set to auto obtain an IP address.
Set Firewall settings to Endpoint Independent for TCP and UDP.

Hello FurryNytz,

My internet service is a PPoE, it is a hauwei fiber optical modem HG850.

We have a quite different network at home. Not a long ago when I was using a DIR-320 I hired a company to built an wired infra-structure.

The connection is like this:

Modem is connected to DIR 655.
Dir 655  connected to 2 3Com 3CGSU08, one splits connection to a few appliences in the living room.
The second 3CGSU08 shares internet to the one bedroom.

The funny thing is that with DIR-320 everthing was working perfectly, but then changing from 320 to 655 made the cameras stop working... I have tried to re-configure everything, but nothing works. The port forwarding is not working...

Or maybe im doing something wrong.

=)
