Router temp very low even under load
« on: September 26, 2011, 08:02:13 PM »

One thing I noticed about this router compared to others is the operating temp.

It's very "cool" compared to others I've had, especially Linksys.  I have a Linksys E2000 that gets very warm, almost worrisomely so.

There sure are few posts here considering how many of these routers are out there.  I hope that means that most people are not having issues with it.

Well probably for a basic router, not alot of extra features to handle thus not alot of heat produced. I'll send you another router so you can keep warm, winter coming soon.  ;D

The DIR-601 has a 300-350MHz Atheros AR7240 CPU, while in comparison, the DIR-655 uses a 400-450MHz CPU. Less Mhz=less electricity=less heat.

Ahh, well that would explain it!  Thanks, Harry!
