Hell No!!! Still waiting on UPS to drop it off. Hey just found this in my log. Any idea what it means?
Map Reject - Downstream Traffic Flow Not Mapped to BPI+ SAID (EC=8)
Jumping on MW2 You game?
In short? Ignore it.
In long (From a DOCSIS Support site)
This means that the modems are going BPI but not BPI+. due to the fact you are using a common config file for mutli-vendor modems. The CVC file for each modem is not included in the file. It's generally harmless, but annoying as it fills up the log.
Basically, the 6121 used the same firmware and config file as the 6120. Thats because besides the casing and a couple other superficial differences, the SB6120 and the SB6121 are the same. Thats why I chuckled when your ISP rated the 6121 higher. Could be the 6121 has the most up to date firmware by default, but that would likly load on the 6120 automatically after a day or two.
As for your question on latency, no, a amp isn't going to help. As long as your signal levels are in spec, a amp is just going to make it worst. But I could talk all day on latency. Its one of those things that has been sooooo simplied and dumbed down (WOW and MW2 I am looking at you) that people trash talk their modem/router/PC/ISP/game server/etc without really knowing what they are talking about. LOL I can give you some tips to help with it if you want though. A good portion of it will be out of your control though.
