Thanks for your input Harry, yeah I know I research and tinker with stuff way too much, lol. My wife hates it. One of my good points and bad points, I guess, that I always research stuff but then I research it too much.

Anyway, I changed the query data source from my browser history to the "top 2000 websites (Alexa)" and ran namebench again and this time Google had the fastest DNS server and my current DNS server was 4th or 5th.
Just in case any one is wondering, I uploaded an old config file to my router and both primary and DNS servers were the xxx.xx.xx.12 Cox server. So no change on the primary but as I mentioned before I changed the secondary to a different Cox server.
Is the secondary DNS server only used if the primary is down?
