Dir 825 problems
« on: February 12, 2009, 06:37:00 AM »

Im not sure where to start well first off i have a bittorrent client running and sat receiver running on my dir-825.When my torrents are running my sat receiver will freeze like crazy. Also my router is locking up every couple of days where i have to unplug it and plug it back in.Im far from an expert on setting this up correctly but heres what i have done so far.I have my computer set to a static ip and my ports forwarded for bittorent.I have my laptop, sat receiver and home computers ip reserved in DHCP Reservations List.Enable Traffic Shaping is on but Automatic Uplink Speed is off and manually set.QoS Engine Setup is off i tried it but had no luck.DMZ is enabled for my sat receiver so its not affected by the firewall.I also was told to turn off logging.I just want to be able to download at a decent rate without my sat receiver locking up and my router not locking up every couple of days.I had a dlink di-524 before this one that ran 24-7 without any issues but it burnt out.Any help would be appreciated cause im lost

first off, your post is difficult to read please try to format the paragraph with breaks in the sentences for easier reading.

1) as for your satellite box, try setting the QoS priority for your BT to 255. That should help.

Not sure what you mean by try setting the QoS priority for your BT to 255 do you mean bittorent  if so i tried this already but the Qos doesnt make a bit of difference my sat receiver was set at Priority 1 and my bittorent at 220 my sat receiver still freezes up.Heres my problems

When my torrents are running my sat receiver will freeze
my router is locking up every couple of days

If i pause my torrents receiver will stop freezing. my internet connection is fast enough and my old di-524 didnt have QOS and didnt have these problems.

I hade a person set it up for me already but he made it worse ive been playing around with setting and got it a bit better but i want to try to figure out why this is running so poor
