Problem Installing BitTorrent Client on DNS-323
« on: February 16, 2009, 07:09:54 PM »

I am having a problem installing the bittorrent client on my dns-323.  Mine came with firmware 1.04 installed.  I used the easy search utility that was shipped with the nas (version 3.8.0.0) to find it on the network and proceded to install firmware 1.06 on it.  After this, I downloaded the new easy search utility (version 4.4.0.0) to install the bittorrent client.  I found that I could not locate the nas on the network using the utility.  I then downgraded my firmware to version 1.05 with no avail.  Does anyone know what is going on here and maybe how to fix this issue?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I personally went from Firmware 1.04 to 1.06 and everything seemed to work fine. I then used the easy search gizmo and installed the Bittorrent software.

Later I realized that 1.06 doesn't seem to shut the drives off and reverted back to 1.05. I used the easy search and connected to my drive. Used the reset all settings button in system.

The trick for me is no matter what you do when you change your firmware is to make sure you use that reset all settings button because when you upgrade or downgrade the firmware settings it doesn't seem to work well until you reset all settings.

Yeah I think I reset all the settings, but I will go back and do it again just to make sure...I just cant think of what could have happened...I had it set to static ip and changed it back to dynamic but still couldn't locate it using the utility...
