XBOX 360- Not Receiving an IP Address
« on: November 25, 2011, 04:24:13 PM »

Okay, I've searched the forums and I see alot of information regarding the setup of multiple Xboxs but I have a single Xbox I need to connect wirelessly to and I have been unable to find a post regarding a failure to obtain an IP Address. I can see the Xbox's MAC address on the network but it will not pull an IP Address. I've setup a cell phone, a laptop and 2 PCs, but the Xbox is just not wanting to go. Suggestions please???

Did you read the sticky for XBL?

Make sure the xbox networking is set up for Automatic IP networking, not manual.
Reserve the IP address on the router under Basic/Networking.

What Furry said and also, restore to default your XBOX's NETWORK settings, back out to the scan for network blade and see if you can enter your wireless info.

Restart the XBOX if necessary but usually it's not necessary.

On top of suggestions already given, some questions:

1.Is it a Xbox 360 Slim with built in wireless? Or are you using a adapter?

2. What do you have your wireless security set to?
