It is my first post on this forum,
I beleave the problem I face with my DNS-323 haven't appeared yet in the community, or I couldn't find anything similar in the internet, and I am curious whether anyone else here experienced something like that.
I've been using the DNS-323 for 4 years now and never had any problems, not to mention a HDD crash

. Up to the moment when I decided to switch to another router. So I replaced my Linksys WRT54GL with TP-LINK WR1043ND, the reason was simple - TP-LINK supports WLAN 11n and has gigabit switch. The replacement was successful, and the only device that couldn't connect to the new router was ... DNS-323.
Even the new router switch link doesn't light up when connected with cable.
Since then I spent lots of time to figure out why does it happen? The new router connects with all the other devices I tried (PCs, other switches) doesn't matter whether they are gigabit or 100 megabit NICs. The DNS-323 connects with all the other devices I tried (PCs, switches), however I noticed some problems - depending on the cable type (patch/cross over) and class (CAT 5/5e), some cables couldn't establish the link with DNS-323. I bought some CAT 5e patch cables, yet DNS-323 and TP-LINK still refuse to connect.
Right now, I've upgraded DNS-323 to the 1.09 firmware, TP-LINK as well, even replaced TP-LINK with a new one, played with Jumbo frame settings, still without any effect. My DNS-323 is connected through the old Linksys router, that acts as a simple hub, and everything is fine.
However, the situation is strange, and it would be nice to use the DNS-323 gigabit port. Has anyone have a clue why this happens?
