Problem with DNS323
« on: February 26, 2009, 07:50:35 AM »

Hi

I dont know if this as been discussed before but here are my problems

when trying to enable the itune server to a specific directory, the web interface crashes

when the itune server is enabled and the UPNP server is enabled, I get a DLNA error when I try to browse the UPNP server with the PS3 and the XBOX

are these 2 thing just appening to me? is it going to get fixed in the near future?

thank

:edit:

running last firmware 1.06
tried to restat from factory, and re-formated the drive, nothing changed

Is UPnP also enabled in your router?

I have the same problem with the itunes server.

I have firmware 1.06 and no other functionnality of 323 used.

The save setting on itunes server don't work anymore (if i try root or disable); the browse button just oern another firefox windows with a "connection failed" message.  The address is : http://[Dlink IP]/web/advanced/start_path.asp?flag=0&ftp_flag=1
DNS 323 work without problem but hang a few second when i try to save now.  Need to relog also.

The browse button only worked the first time i saved.  I Did it quickly at that time and i don't know if it's related but i didn't type a password.

Any solution?

Will i need to reset?

SPI = Stateful Packet Inspection.

SPI is the process through which the firewall (in the router) knows that an incoming packet is a part of an existing "transaction", it "remembers" the state of the transaction.

Assuming that all of the related connections are inside your network, enabling/disabling SPI or uPnP on the router is not likely to make a difference, as the communications between the devices do not actually pass through the router - they may pass through a switch or wireless access point that is housed in the router cabinet, but not through the router itself.

Hmmmm, odd....I have a DNS323 with 1.06 running on my DIR655/A3 with 1.22B5 and I dont see any problems with accessing the itunes server.  I did of course have to do a refresh on the DNS323 for it to read the info on the RAID but once that was done, itunes saw the server and I was able to access all the files with no problem.

I can also say I had no problem with firmware version 1.21.

when trying to enable the itune server to a specific directory, the web interface crashes

I'm suddenly having a similar problem.  I've had the uPnP and iTunes servers enabled for quite a while with no problem but just today went in to change the iTunes server password.  When I clicked OK to approve the password change the page wouldn't redraw properly and I couldn't access the web interface.  I had to restart the 323 to get access again.  Everything still looks fine except that every time I try to access the iTunes server page it does the same thing: won't redraw correctly and the whole web interface becomes inaccessible.

If it's any help I was changing the password from something 4 characters long to something 10 characters long.

I'm still running the 1.05 firmware.
