Hardware A3; Firmware 1.21

All the FAQs show there is a newer rev to the firmware, but when I check thru my router's admin page, it says I have the latest.  Is 1.21 the most recent for my hardware version?

Also, I just upgraded to that rev of the firmware TODAY.  Now my wife's Kindle Fire runs really slow.  Is there some obvious setting I'm missing that anyone can suggest?  Is is possible to go back to the previous rev of the firmware?

Thanks for the help, appreciate your patience with this n00b.

The newest DIR-655 firmware is 1.35NA.  The router can't detect the newest firmware.  A3 can use 1.32NA, 1.33NA, 1.34NA, and 1.35NA (can't downgrade with this version).  FW 1.21 allows downgrade back to your original firmware if you have a copy of the original firmware.  From 1.35NA back has to use 1.34WW or 1.31EU in order to downgrade back to 1.34NA/1.33NA.

Slow speed could be QoS, Connection Speed setting, and channel selection.  Also has to enable the multicast streaming, the endpoint independent for the NAT, and the uplink speed.

Also:
What wireless modes are you using?
Try single mode G or mixed G and N?
What security mode are you using? Preferred security is WPA-Personal. WPA2/Auto TPIK and AES.
What wireless devices do you have connected?
Any cordless house phones?
Any other WiFi routers in the area? Use InSSIDer to find out.
Turn off Short GI and Extra Wireless Protection if you have it. Under Advanced/Advanced Wireless.

Thanks for the tips; most of those I have dealt with.  I did make a couple of tweaks to her Silk browser (disabled Flash and such) and now all is well.  It must have been just a weird conincidence, but boy was she mad at me... :-\

I have a few other questions -- I'll post a new thread
