Streaming Sirius thru to PS3-- will this work?
« on: January 04, 2012, 01:06:37 PM »

Hey all,

I really havent leveraged all the bells and whistles in my DNS-321... Wondering if this is my shot?

I want to listen to the internet subscription I have to Sirius on my home PC.  Simplest solution? Connect a laptop to the HDMI and I'm good to go.

However, that implies a laptop is always connected and booted.  Not most elegant solution.

Combing thru the net for a solution, I stumbled upon TVersity.  I am not clear as to what TVersity buys me over what the 321 comes with out of the box?

from the spec: "The DNS-321 also acts as a UPnP™
AV media server³ that streams media to a compatible player such as the PlayStation® 3, Microsoft® Xbox 360™ and D-Link’s MediaLounge™ product line."

Does this mean that, out of the box, the 321 will be visible from my PS3?  Do I need to have my movies, pics, music, etc on the 321 and then can view/play them on PS3?  Would I be able to stream Sirius Internet out of the box?  Any tips on where to learn more?

Assuming that I do still need TVeristy--can it be installed on the 321?  Any tips on where to learn how to do that?  This is new technology for me--any and all advice appreciated!
