Disable wireless and reboot - can't save settings afterwards
« on: March 04, 2009, 08:43:02 AM »

Hi all,
this is a problem that I can reproduce 100% of the time.
Router DIR-655
Hardware version: A3
Firmware revision: 1.21

If you disable your wireless antennas and then force a reboot of your router you will no longer be able to save any of your settings afterwards. The only way out of this is to restore the router's factory settings.

Can any of you reproduce this?
Do you know of a fix for this?

thank you.

That is an error isolated to you or a select few. I'd like to have you try that again with the 1.22 beta firmware.

I hit the same case when the first time update the firmware 1.21....then I fall back to 1.11, and then re-upgrade to 1.21 again...problem gone and so far so good.

So, I think it might be caused by the upgrade program or corrupted data.

Suggest :
1.  re-download the latest 1.21 version
2.  do a complete reset of the router
3.  re-fresh the firmware
4.  do a compete reset again
5.  manual setup (do not reload the configuration file)

Try and good luck.
