Sorry to hear about your upload dropping like that.  It seems they are changing something on their end (Hopefully it won't last long).   >:(

When you say "their end" are you referring to Cox or the servers at myconnection server?  The reason I ask is because I was referring to the website not Cox.  I know some of these test webites get screwing and give you bogus results sometimes.

I was referring to Cox, but it could be the test site. :(

There are so many variables it's very hard to track down what's causing it.

hmm, okay so I logged into my account at speedtest.net and DSL reports to pull up my test history and I noticed that my IP address changed since bonding to 8 channels.

is this normal? that I have a new IP address from Cox???

IP addresses from your ISP will change. Frequency of the changes depends on the ISP change policy.

I haven't tried that one, but will when I get home.

I noticed that when I was working on my 4500 yesterday, my IP changed as well..   ::) Oh well, such is life. That's why I use DynDNS.

I noticed when I run a line quality check at DSL reports my first hop ping is not measurable any more and it is pinging a different IP.
Before my first hop ping would be to Chandler AZ, 68.2.2.94 but now my first hope ping is located in Wichita Kansas, 184.178.205.109.

What is the deal here???

IPs should only change maybe once every other month or 3 months. At least it's what I've seen on my ISP.

I might call the ISP and ask them about this. See if there noticing anything unusual about your line. This could be causing an issue while gaming.

I agree with Furry.  That's something to call up and ask.  That's a far geographical difference in hops..   >:(

Ok, thanks guys, I will run a tracert and ping plotter when I get home so I can see exactly what is going on.  The only bad news I have been seeing lag for over a week now and this first hop ping just started happening when my IP address changed.

Lets review your router settings too.
I would also ask for a new modem from your ISP or maybe get one of your own if your only using the modem for internet.  ;)

With auto uplink enabled:

I pay for 2 meg upload but with powerboost I was getting 4meg up but since the 8 channel bonding and new IP address I get this!  Since then when running that myconnection server line quality test my upload consistency dropped to 20-30%!

So last night I disabled auto uplink and entered 2048.  Ran those same tests and my uplink consistency of service is 85-96%!!!

The more experience I get with powerboost the more I don't like it.  I think it screws with QoS and is inconsistent to say the least.

So I will keep the manual uplink speed checked for now on.
