DNS-325: DLNA, Folder Sort, UPnP refresh
« on: February 21, 2012, 04:41:54 AM »

Hi everyone I'm new....  ;)

I bought a DNS-325 and updated to firmware 1.02
I use principally PS3 to access

I read all the thread about these issues but I haven't found the answers to these question:

1) this NAS is DLNA certified but is impossible to access from some DLNA certified cell like Samsung Galaxy S. I tried even with Iphone, no change. Why?

2) Cannot sort folder by filename so song list in all my albums are messed up (but at least folders are sorted correctly).

3)  when I insert new files into NAS I have to launch entire disk refresh to see it (under UPnP menù)

Is it possible that the only possibile solution I've found on the web is to crack it and install a different media server like Twonky?

I have the same problem with my smart TV
MP3 files will only show all of them and not by folder
Smart Phones will not show Videos But Use ES file explore that will play Music in a Fashion
I have Got two Network drives and i have got this to work with out having to do a refresh
Drive one is not on the UPNP and Drive two is when ever i put a file on just after it has finished Drive one runs briefly this updates Drive two
Your PS3 should be fine as my sons works fine
If you read the firmware wish list you will see Better DNLA support manly as there are more devices that will work on it

DLNA doesn't work with my Sharp TV either.  Big disappointment and no reply from D-Link from multiple emails attempts.

At least it works great to store data off my server.

I have been looking into this the DNLA on this is very week
and will not work through Allshare on a Smart TV or Galaxy S phone
It is on the Firmware wish list my old TV finds the folders and plays the moves but that is not a smart TV it uses wiselink a Dnla Player
The dns320 does play on smart TV's with no problems
This is something they need to sort as cheaper enclosure do a better job  for half the price
Now the PS3 my son has is the only thing that does other then a pc Play all the files and folders
a tip
Do not set it up as one drive
have two separate drives try using drive two seems to work better
Put a folder in called Media
Then three Pics.Music.videos then in the shares option share the whole drive, the in undp server thing click update
This got my TV to see all the MP3's but not in any folders
you don't have to keep updating it should sort its self out as it goes
