This is my scenario: From my provider I got that (****py) Easybox that I can not configure as Modem only (I tried, but I did not get VoiP to run).
So I configured it to be a router and gave it the IP- Address 10.10.10.1, with DHCP enabled (10.10.10.100 - .254).
I connected WAN- Port of the DIR645 to the first LAN- Port of the Easybox and configured WAN to use Static IP. I entered 10.10.10.2 as an IP- Address and 10.10.10.1 as default gateway.
The LAN- IP of the DIR is 192.168.1.1 ...
Although the status says "Line Connected", I can not ping 10.10.10.1 from the DIR (and vice versa).
Am I wrong with my assumption that this should work?
Of course I can simply configure both routers to use the same Subnet and just let the Easybox do all the work. But then the DIR is only a WLAN- Router and I can not use the whole functionality. In addition I can not get the DIR645 to connect to the internet in the scenario:
Both Routers use 192.168.1.x- Addresses, are connected from LAN1 to LAN1 (no WAN- Port involved).
Can anyone advice how to configure this the best?`
Thanx
EDIT: I use the most current Firmware DIR-645_fw_reva_102b07_ALL_de_20111104 I could find...
