The problem resurfaced again today. I powered off the router for at least 30 minutes as I was testing my DrayTek router. When I powered the D-Link back on, LAN 1 which is connected to my PC's ethernet port was flashing intermittently. Where as LAN 4's light (which isn't connected to anything) was constantly on, no flashing light. So I connected it to my PC and it works again. I'm sure I tested all the LAN ports before when I had the 'flashing' light (rather than blinking, which to me shows an active connection).

Any chance of getting this unit into RMA?

I'll have to. Problem is I need to wait until payday to fork out for another router (third one now). It's odd, it happened after I came back from work tonight. Switched on the PC and noticed I didn't have an internet connection due to the slow intermittent flashing light problem. I powered off the router for five minutes before powering it up again and it's working. Loose circuit board connection? Corroded circuitry?

I don't think so.
Any chance your phone line cables for your DSL line needs to be checked? Ensure the line to the box and from the box to the house is in good condition. Ask the ISP if they seen any or notice any disconnections on there side as well to confirm anything seen during these time frames. The modem should recover on it's own however if the signal to the modem isn't good then might not be able to.

This is your 3rd Modem?
