So here's an update. I had two different friends come by at different times with different results to help me out. Having said that. I was able to get it working for regular machines but not my hp media smart server.
I reset the router to default and started from scratch after loads of messing around, basically let's change this and see what happens even tho I really have no idea of what the hell I'm messing with, and in the end the only thing I changed was the following:
I went into the router settings Advanced/network filter and turned on MAC filtering and ALLOW computers listed to access the network drop down menu. Then added each and every machine to the list from the DHCP Client list area. I had never had to do this before but ok. I got excited because now I did see the machines and had limited to full access to them. At this point I figured it was minor file sharing issues I would have to deal with. Before I would get a ghost of the image but could not access anything. So this was good. However, I still can not access my media smart server and since that is one of the most important pieces to the puzzle I'll be sending this back in a day or two unless someone has some simple solution for me.
btw, the settings above are the only changes I have made Literally. I reset the router, didn't deal with wireless connections or anything besides this. I figured one problem at a time and this was the only real problem that needed taking care of.
