Where is the LogOut feature on this device?
- Wish list:  Add Log Out feature into the menu.  Manual Log Out would assist in testing this password issue.

Let us know if the suggestion works...

DLink router uses the auto logout function and is a standard for all routers. This replaces the user select log out function.

Just for sanity reasons, the primary contention here is that despite the firmware release notes below, this is still an on-going issue?  Some users are not able to log in, because it appears the device "forgets the custom password," yes?

DIR-645 Revision A1

Firmware:
v.1.04B11

Date of Firmware Release: 2013/12/19

Region: USA (or mixed)

Release Notes:

Vulnerabilities Addressed
- Fix Admin Password will accepting and saving complex password, then not allow the user to use new
complex password

For problem solving reasons did you attempt to perform the process stated in replay #74?

If not then I recommend that you phone contact D-Link and ask for level 2 or higher support as I'm not seeing this issue with my 645 at this time. Thats not saying that others are not. Please phone contact D-Link support and get immediate help. Ask for an RMA.

To clarify, I am not experiencing the symptoms.  In an effort to troubleshoot, I am trying to reproduce it using the same equipment, firmware, OS, browser, and sample password settings:

Device: DIR-645
Firmware: 1.04B11 (12/04/13)

OS used to connect: Windows 7 Ultimate SP1
Browser used to connect: IE 11 build 11.0.9600.16476

Current Password: 123456789

Status: Able to login daily since Friday Jan. 8th 2014

Next test you could try after giving the simple PW time, try a heavy complex PW.

Unable to reproduce the issue using the following complex password below.  If anyone has any other bright ideas? This might be a batch issue.  If this is still occurring, I suggest listing out serial numbers of impacted units.

I recommend that users give the Emergency Recovery Mode process a try with a clean install of the lasted FW from there perspective regions, using IE or FF with all browser add-ons disabled and 3rd party security programs disabled. If this process fails to resolve this issue, You'll need to phone contact D-Link support and ask for an RMA.

For security reasons, please do not post your routers serial number here as it's not needed here. You'll be asked for that when you phone contact D-Link support.

Thank you.

So far I've been unable to reproduce the issue.  Its a challenge to move forward unless someone sends in a unit that is repeatable.

Agreed. I haven't been able to reproduce this and neither has D-Link. They recommended doing a complete Recovery Room FW load to blow away any bad code on the router.

I've attempted to use the those "emergency recovery mode" from your awesome link posted earlier.  At this time, I believe D-Link does NOT have an emergency recovery IP for the DIR-645 (running 1.04 latest firmware.)

There is a different IP address that differs from the others that someone just posted and I included in the sticky...did you see that information?
