Any Chance of an updated HD Compatibility list with user feedback similar to the DNS-323 pages.?

It would be nice if the new firmare works with OSX Lion and the netatalk 2.2.x to enable a working itunes server and time maschine backup.

Not sure if this is a feature already or not, the lights that represent the drive bays on the OLED, if a drive fails the light for the drive in the bay should blink.

There should be an option for the end user to change the display name in the OLED from DNS-345 to something like their device name such as NAS-SR-1000 as an example.

iSCSI support which complete the functionality of the DNS-345 as it has everything else.

Would be nice if there were two modes for NIC availability, single and dual mode.

Single mode would allow someone to connect LAN1 to Network A and connect LAN2 to Network B, this is actually an old method.

Dual NIC mode would be teaming, when this mode is in use a single virtual NIC would be created that shows up in the DHCP server; this virtual NIC would manage the two NICs depending on which teaming mode is selected. As it currently stands the teaming has both NICs getting an IP address from the DHCP server making true load balancing impossible to achieve.

Although conceptually this sounds like a great idea, I think the solution extends substantially beyond a firmware update. Wouldn't this solution require a client-side software solution as well?  ???

Sorry why would iSCSI require a hardware change? Openfiler a free NAS application written in *nix offers iSCSI support on your local server hardware without requiring you to buy anything special as an example. Windows 2008/7 supports iSCSI without requiring any special hardware. Your competitors offer iSCSI with their products, I am sure they aren't using anything special to achieve this. :)

What? Why do you think that you would require software on the client side? You should really sit down with a Windows server that has two Broadcom or Intel NICs and see how "true" teaming works, or set up the server to work on two different networks. You'll see it has nothing to do with the clients accessing it..

You're 100% correct, I was reading through your post too quickly and didn't see the "i" in iSCSI.  :-[
