DMZ or Port Forward RE: VoIP???
« on: April 05, 2012, 07:58:22 PM »

Hi all,
I'm new to this forum, routing & VoIP...
My question/issue relates to my DIR-655 & my PAP2T-NA.
When I first connected the PAP2 through the 655,
I was unable to hear to person I called but they could hear me.
Then when I connected PAP2 straight to the modem all was good.

So, I then added the PAP2 to DMZ in the 655 & again all good.
Both ends could hear each other.

So, is there another way of working/setting the PAP2 access through the 655 so as not to just open the ip address right up?
???
Any advise would be greatly appreciated
by this new comer/novice/newbie.   :)
Thanks

uncheck the SIP Protocol filtering.... Save and reboot the router...

Had to do that for my vonage box to be able to send fax's....was an odd thing....

DMZ works for this platform as well. Glad you got it working.  ;)
