Issues with firmware 2.03b01
« on: May 09, 2012, 09:31:45 AM »

Since I upgraded to fw 2.03b01, I noticed that my P2P folder vanished. Even though I could map it to Windows 7 explorer, now it takes a long time to move files from my download folder to, for instance, my movies folder, that is located in another drive. Before upgrading to this version, I had v. 2.0 and the P2P folder was in Volume 2, where I also had my movies folder, thus, any file transfer was done in a breeze. Do you know whether there is a solution to this issue?

Secondly, after playing around with the new fw, I noticed that I can no longer access the NAS from outside my network (from the internet). I had an account at dyndns and used to access by forwarding port 443 to 443. I am a noob at networking but I could make this work; now I cannot access.

Thank you.

The P2P folder issue was highlighted in FW 2.02 and it suppose to be a fix for FTP access by anonymous user. The folder is now a Shared Folder similar to Volume_1/2. Try doing a reset to factory default or simply restart P2P apps should resolve this issue.

As for the second problem, I have yet to test it out.

Thank you for your reply, Albert. I will try to reset the unit, since I had restarted the P2P app and nothing changed.

If any of you can access the NAS from the internet with fw 2.03b01, please post how you do it. Thank you.

Hi. I just wanted to tell you all that I could eventually access the NAS from the Internet. I checked both the NAS and my router's config, then restarted the router and the NAS and now I can access. So, just to set the record straight, fw 2.03b01 has not damaged the internet access to the NAS (in my experience, at least). Thank you.

Hi,

No problem accessing the NAS from internet, using a fix IP adress directly. My ADSL box transmits transparently this IP adress, and I just forwarded FTP requests through the bridge/firewall to the NAS.
Changing the FW didn't change accessibility.

If I can be on any help ?
