Help with setting SFTP
« on: May 31, 2012, 07:42:20 AM »

Hi,

is there anybody running SFTP on DNS-320 and willing to help newbie?

Fun plug 0.7 installed. I can ssh into NAS without problem.

I would like to setup SFTP server for few users. Can someone help me with example of defined SFTP server? I believe there's need to edit ssh_config file and also somehow to add users. I don't know how to define user access to folders. Help is highly appreciated. Thank You in advance.

Hello Martin78

I'm not an advance unix guy, nevertheless, I did setup SCP/SFTP after adding the fun_plug. It is not hard, however, I cannot remember exactly how I did it. Nevertheless, you just have to make sure you define the user, its home dir and the rights permissions.
Google for command "chmod" or just follow some of the same commands you did for fun_plug root user such as creating its home dir and file permissions. That is what I did at least for 0.5 version.

Thanks for suggestion how to proceed.

I managed to define users with passwords and chmod directories for appropriate privileges. It seems to be O.K. I just face one problem - how to lock users in their home directory? It's really important for me.

Any greatly help appreciated.
