FTP help please
« on: June 20, 2012, 02:14:54 PM »

Hi,

ok I need some help.  I have been trying to setup the FTP server which was all working inside my LAN and up to a point it is working externally.  Externally I am able to login before I got an error message "500 Unknown command 'pasv'" just using ftp://dlinkddns in firefox.  Using something like WinSCP just hangs but both work fine if I go through the local address.  Can anyone shed any light on what I've missed.

I've just updated the 320 to firmware 2.0.0 if that helps.

Thanks!

Thanks for the suggestion, I've forwarded port 20 as well as 21 to the NAS but still get the same error.

forward Port 21 and 55536-55663

see management-> application management-> ftpserver-> "use default port range"

works for me with ddns from outside.

Are you attempting to connect to the external IP from within the same network where it works fine locally?
when attempting the external IP, make sure you are NOT using the same router to go out and back into itself.

Hope I'm making sense...
