Author Topic: [BUG] 1.22b05 and before: Can't set Daylight Savings; "Invalid Date or Time"  (Read 13343 times)

Hi, another Time related issue. I'm trying to set Daylight Savings settings to be on and they are as follows:
DST Start: Oct; 1st; 2am
DST End: Apr; 1st; 3am

I click "Save Settings" and then the page spits "Invalid Date or Time" error message at me. Date and Time is correct, where I live Daylight Savings is those times, but it won't let me do it.

What's the fix/workaround?

Use 2 AM also on DST end. Like it actually is arranged. See if that works.

Woops should've included that too I guess, GMT +10 Canberra, Melbourne ...etc
Tried setting both to 2am as you suggested but it still gives me the error.

Just a wild guess, but the beta may be US based and that's why you are invalid dtae/time errors.

Should not be an issue, since the US version works OK in Europe.
Perhaps a bad flash. Try resetting to factory default, configure manually and try the setting again

Nope, i've done that 3 times already and its the only issue i'm having with this firmware version. I highly doubt its a bad flash since I had this problem when i was at 1.1 and that was the version that came with the router.

I have to agree with him, since I've always had the same error (Brazil, GMT -3), for the first time I tried to set Daylight Savings (1.22 and 1.21, at least, I think; A2 US hardware).

My wild guess is: the code doesn't recognize the possibility of a Daylight Saving Time scheme that cross from the last to the new year. In onter words, South Hemisphere Daylight Savings. It assumes that October CAN'T come before April.

Maybe you can try tricking it, if the normal DST is +1 hour set it to -1 and reverse your dates.

Of course it works (that's exactly what I had to do everytime), but it's not quite a workaround, it's a don't-use-at-all, as we are disabling the feature. :)

Well, that's expected and does not invalidate my hypothesis, as at Eastern Time, DST is set between two months of the SAME YEAR. Have you tried to set it as if you're living at the south hemisphere, for a chance? I mean, with a later month at start and a earlier month at ending? You see, unfortunatly, the summer here occurs in a quite opposite period of the year than in the north hemisphere, for a strange an unusual geographical reason. ;)

I guess I could just pretend that I follow EST, except my boss won't like me turning up early during WINTER. A simple fix would be to add a list or buttons to pick EST or DST you know.
