Does it support MKV and SRT subtitles?
« on: July 13, 2012, 08:39:45 AM »

Hello eveyone. I'm asking here because I couldn't find this information in the product manual. In fact, it doesn't say anything about the DLNA compatibility (which files/formats and what devices the dlna server can talk to).

My biggest concern is about MKV files (1080p or 720p) and subtitles (in srt format). I have two Samsung TV (dlna compliant) and I've been using a software DLNA server without problems (I can see both video and subtitles as long they have the same name and are in the same folder).

Will this work using the D-Link DNS-320 integrated DLNA server too?

Thanks.

Samsung TVs just plain don't like the DNS 320's DNLA server, I would advise on saving yourself from the stress and just giving up right now and sticking with software if I were you...

I would consider this to be more of a shortcoming of Samsung TVs by the way, as other brands work fine with the DNS 320...

Ok. Thank you all. I guess this product is not for me.

I'll take a look at Synology. The only problem is that they are muuuuch more expensive.
