Repeater mode = Bridge mode?
« on: December 05, 2012, 02:34:36 AM »

I have 3 rooms in my house without WLAN signal, but one of the room is cabled (Ethernet from main router/Airport Extreme). Do I plug the Ethernet cable to DIR-505 (version 1.5) and put it in "Repeat mode" to give wireless connection in my other two rooms?

I used to have an old Airport Express in bridge mode for this job, but it broke down on me :(

Will the DIR-505 do the job?

In repeat mode you wont need the cable connected. If you want to run in repeat mode, the 505 should be able to connect to the main host routers WiFi wirelessly with out using the LAN cable. If you do want to use the LAN cable, I recommend using AP mode.

Thanks! Without the cable worked fine. But I had to shut down everything wireless, router and modem in the house to make it work. DHCP problems at first take, but now I have full and steady signal all over :) Great product!!
