Single HDD format
« on: December 24, 2012, 11:00:42 AM »

Hi there,

I'm new here and I've a DNS-320 with two 1TB HDDs. They're on standard format and I want to format only one of then. Is it possible? On Disk Management - Hard Drive Configuration, the only option available is to format both...

The simple answer is to remove the drive you don't want formatted but why would you want to format only one of your drives?

I assume by standard format you mean that you intend to have each drive as a separate volume.  If, on the other hand, you mean something else then you will have to let the NAS format your drives for them to be seen and used by the firmware.
