dns-325 Unable to set Network Shares
« on: January 29, 2013, 03:21:17 AM »

Hi All, looking for some help (again)

I have a new DNS-325 with two 2TB WD drives (WD-EADS) which seem to appear OK. The unit has HW version A2, FW 1.02.

I have set up most of the bits, but cannot set Network Shares in Management/Account Management/Network Shares - the page appears, but without the list of available shares. None of the buttons on that page do anything - cannot open iso shares, or close network shares. It looks as though the html page is incorrect in some way.

I have setup a group (everyone) and a user in that group.

I have access to a Volume_1 share, but would like to see this in Network shares.

What else do I need to do please?

Hoping someone can help me,

Dlink Tech support helped - it was a browser problem. I use Chrome (on windows XP) and it wasn't properly displaying that part of that page.  IE worked, firefox worked, Chrome didn't.

Exactly the same problem here with my brand new NAS.

Not working on OSX with Firefox or Safari or on XP with IE.

By erasing and creating options, the problem had been solved.... keep going !

i see were you might be going wrong
log in as admin on chrome
then click on Account management this is were you set up who or what can see what drive
if your setting up a basic windows share click New and follow the onscreen instructions here you can set up passworded sections or not when you have finished click ok and it will appear in the box
now if you go to any windows PC and Network discovery is turned on your dlink 325 will show up double click and it will now show up what you have just set up
