RMA Questions
« on: April 30, 2009, 12:29:33 PM »

So my DIR-615 messed up and the customer service guy gave me the case number and all.

and I go to the website rma.dlink.com and it says i need proof of purchase, but although i dont have my reciept i have a credit card statement that says the following:

11/16 24 digit reference number Circuit City SS #3634 Portage MI                 42.39

would this work for my proof of purchase?

If I give dlink the credit card company's name shouldn't they be able to confirm that this is a proof of purchase for the d link router?

also do i have to send back my old router? or will they just ship me a new one?

A copy of the receipt is required.   This is required for two reasons.   First,   to show that it's still under the manufacturer warranty.    Second,   this is the only way to show that it was purchased from an authorized reseller.   Another option would be a rebate submission.   A credit card statement will only work if it showed the actually model number of the unit.

There are 2 options to choose from.    A standard RMA or a cross-shipment RMA.   A standard RMA will require you to send your defective unit to us first.   Once received,   a replacement unit will be sent to you within 24-48 hrs.   A cross-shipment is an advanced shipment.   This requires your credit card information.   The replacement unit will be sent to you within 24-48 hrs after creating the cross-shipment.  You are still required to send back your defective unit.   Please see the cross-shipment agreement online for further details.   Hope this helps.
