Hi, I have a DNS-320 with a few folders like 'movies' and 'documents' which I want to synchronise with identical folders on another NAS (in this case a Netgear Readynas NV+).
I would like to achieve a setup such that changes to the contents of either NAS gets synchronised with the other.
As far as I can see, I can only achieve "one-way" sync from the DNS-320 to the Readynas via rsync. I'm currently testing this and it is working, but if the contents of the Readynas folder(s) change I want them to be sync'd back in the other direction.
What to do? How can I achieve this? Both NAS devices seem to support rsync to some degree, but it seems easier to get the DNS-320 to connect to the Readynas than the other way round.
I've currently got the Rsync service enabled on the Readynas with a working username/password that I can log in with from the DNS-320 (this is what I'm using). I have to use "Nas-to-Linux" in the backup application as "NAS-to-NAS" fails with:
SSH Test Result : Failed ( Unknown Reason Failed )
RSYNC Test Result : Failed ( RSYNC Test Failed )
I've also got the "Enable remote backup service" box ticked in Remote Backups > Server in the DNS-320, but cannot get the Readynas to connect successfully this way.
Is synchronisation even a feature these are capable of or is one-way backup the only option?
