Hello,
  I've been trying to set up network filtering, and am having no luck.  I'm trying to block certain folders on a NAS (DNS-320).  My 8 yo insists that watching The Walking Dead is appropriate.  So, I need to block specific subfolders so he can't access them.  I would like to keep the NAS available, because there are some ebooks there that he copies to his tablet (Blackberry Playbook) to read. I DON'T want to password protect the DNS-320, because I stream the videos, mainly using XBMC / OpenElec with SAMBA shares. (If not, I can block the table from the whole NAS.)  I prefer to block by MAC so there are no IP switches that happen.
  I also would like to block certain website (youtube) at specific times.  Is that possible?  Or I can turn off internet for the specified MACs.
  I wanted to use FREEDNS for the internet filtering, but my providers DSL modem won't keep the changes to DNS server, so that's out.

You might want to put your playbook into the guest zone as an option then setup a schedule for his playbook to be allowed access to the gust zone and connected online.

If you leave the play book on the main network then he'll have access to any un-secured shared folder. You would need to secure the shared folders at the source, which can't be done on the router.

Have you tried leveraging DNS-320 accounts, groups, and shared folders? Using this approach, you can add different access policies to directories and sub-directories. If you are streaming primarily to a dedicated commercial media player, you should be able to add the DNS-320 access credentials (username/password) to the media player, while keeping the passwords for the "Walking Dead" type media hidden from your son. Depending on the media player, you may be able to add parental access controls to specific sub-directories, further isolating adult content from your son.

I also recommend re-posting the NAS related portion of your post in the DNS-320 board for other members to chime in.
