Can you turn the LEDs off?
« on: May 24, 2013, 07:38:41 AM »

I am thinking of buying this camera and was wondering if you can turn off the LEDs so no one can tell it is recording or operating?

Thanks,
Bill

Very interesting... First I thought that the 2332L has the ability to turn off the LEDs because from the HW point it seems to be very similar to the 2132L model, which definitely has this feature. However, when I checked from the 2332L manual it seems that for some reason this feature has been eliminated from its firmware. With 2132L the LED control option is at the bottom of the Maintenance/Admin page (page 60), whereas with 2332L this space is empty  ???

You can also download the 2332L manual e.g. from here in order see that the the LED control option is really missing from the firmware:

Mine has the option to turn the LED off, it's under Maintenance - Admin, way at the bottom of the page (you have to scroll down to find it). I wonder if different countries get different firmware or something? I don't understand why mine has this but yours doesn't.
