Hey all,
I've been having difficulty trying to set up my home network.
This is how I'm trying to set it up:
I have the internet coming in and going into a D-Link DIR-815, which I've set to 192.168.0.1. I want this router to function as a bridge and not put out Wi-Fi signal as it seems to cause interference with a pager owned by one of the people that lives in my house (they're a firefighter so the pager is quite important).
Out of port 1, an ethernet cable goes to a DHP-307AV Powerline. This powerline sends the internet connection to the opposite side of the house and into the internet port of a DIR-825. The 825's signal hasn't interfered with the pager, and I know it sounds like it should if the 815 interferes, the 825 should interfere also, but I won't question the apparent black magic at work.
However, when the 815 is connected to the network, the DIR-825 does not connect to the internet. When the network skips the 815 and travels right into the DHP-307, the network works fine and I can connect through the DIR-825.
I've tried to follow other instructions for 2 router set ups, and I've tried reformatting the both routers, but I've not had any success.
Any help would be appreciated.
