I've been waiting on the sidelines for awhile now for the firmware issues to be resolved and I start reading users reporting positive results.  I just come back to visit for status on this router and ... not one inch of progress was made...?  I am still on original firmware that came with my DIR-825 A1. What's up at DLINK?

P.S. - Same story goes for my DIR-655 (I own both).  What the heck is going on at DLINK? after all these reports and long time passing... no progress at all?  I am afraid to apply the new firmware versions that cannot be backed off once applied.  So I sit waiting for confirmation o***ood solid stable firmware release.

When is the next new firmware release coming out?  (Also I agree with previous posters. why does'nt DLINK remove that buggy firmware v1.11 that is causing everyone headaches?)

I had to go drag out one of my old Linksys WRT54Gs.. At least it works...

Sad thing is I had a 655 .. It fried shortly after a firmware upgrade.. i sucked it up and thought it was a one off..

Bought one of these.. worked great with a few hickups, saw the wonderfull new firmware post... upgraded.. Poof.. screwed with no way to go back and no further support it appears from Dlink.

Funny thing is i got the firmware and upgraded right away when it came out, then AFTER i installed it they changed the update notes to say it cant be rolled back (might have been 1.10) .

Anyways, if its not fixed soon that will be my last Dlink.. will stick to companies that respond

I wish I had researched the firmware upgrade before I did it, but I would expect a company to be responsible enough to remove something harmful if they were aware of it, and they WERE aware for at least six weeks. The router was great before the update. I suppose that is what I get for trusting a company to do the right thing.

I agree and posted a warning over at the new gdgt.com website on the dir-825 page.

Is there an ETA on when we might see a firmware update to 1.11NA? There are certainly enough users on this thread to beta test a more stable version.

Firmware should be coming soon. Don't have an ETA but the issues reported have been addressed.

What issues specifically?

Issues with DNS relay?

1.11NA Seems to have addressed my wireless reboot problems vs. 1.01, however I experienced the router lockup issue this morning (or sometime overnight).  All the pretty blinkies were flashing but none of the computers could access the internet or 825 admin page.  Dang, I wanted that log.  I pulled the plug before checking if any other network resources were available.

Sounds like the DNS relay issue...?

Just signed up to forum. Been looking for answers to the 825 lockup problem. This helped sooooo much.
I have a basic config with a DSL modem, the 825, and a series of wired and wireless macs and a pc or two. I've had to repower the 825 now on a daily basis. really frustrating.
The fix of turning off the DNS Relay seems to have solved it. I've been running for 4 days now just wonderfully, and faster. I have yet to see any side effects of this, but for now this seems to solved the problem.

Possibly.   After the same problem occurred occurred again (2-3 days between lockups), I disabled DNS Relay this afternoon.

ARRRRGGGGGG!!!! Boo Hoo

Three days ago, I installed the new firmware 1.11NA !!!!! Now it slows to a crawl and drops the internet connection to local only.......

I almost forgot that I even had routers. The router was flawless until this new firmware was installed. I have had to restart it twice and called tech support once! Why? Why did they mess this up?

Tech support suggested that I change the WAN port speed from "Auto 10/100/1000Mbps to 1000 Mbps . (ADVANCED >ADVANCED NETWORK>WAN PORT SPEED) Try this for a couple of days and if that doesn't solve it I have to call them back!!

I have the DIR-825 as my main router with two Linksys WRT54G's (DD-WRT) as repeater bridges. It was a totally maintenance free setup with no restarts or slowdowns.

I am soooooo disappointed.......

KEEP THE 1.01... My netwrok was so good with that version that  didn't even know it was there. Since 1.11NA, it's been terrible!

Looks like we're on our way to a solution, but I thought that I would add my name to the list of customers that were shut down by the 1.11 firmware.  Unchecking the DNS Forwarding did alleviate the hanging issue, but I am noticing some intermittent DNS failures (may be unrelated) now.

Very much looking forward to the next firmware iteration.
